A: HUD requires that all recipients of HUD McKinney-Vento Act program funds participate in an HMIS.  Recipients that do not participate will not receive McKineey-Vento Act funding in the future.  While not required to implement, all homeless provider agencies are highly encouraged by HUD and the Collier County Hunger and Homeless Coalion to implement HMIS within their agencies.
